I've had my eye on these guys for awhile now but they were always $4.49-$4.99 and when your trying to stick to a budget, you don't appreciate being raped by overpriced, undersized stuffed "chicken" breasts! The last I went food shopping these puppies were marked down %50 still a little on the pricey side but a little reasonable.
In the packages, before opening... All looks good so far.
I cracked the baby open and tasted the sauce.... Blech! X( It tasted like over-sweetened, under-spiced, pizza sauce!!! Who the hell this pizza sauce is supposed to be "Santa Fe" Style, last time I checked Santa Fe was in New Mexico.... not Italy!
So I scraped off all the sauce, added chili powder, cumin powder and cayenne, and figured that now it would be more Santa-Fa-ish.
I fryed them up sauce-less, then added the sauce till it thicken up and cooked throughly.
Heres a poor-quality inside shot, my camera was not co-operating!
The flavor of the "chicken" itself, was very good like Gradein products always are. But the stuffing was mushy and not very flavorful... And you already now what I though of the sauce..... I wouldn't but this for full or half price again.
I give it 3 out of 5, the only reason it's not 2 stars is becasue the flavor and the texture of the "Meat" is always good with gardein.
